The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reported that since October 10, 30% of Ukraine’s power stations have been damaged, causing massive blackouts across the country. As a result of the attack on the energy sector of Ukraine on October 17, hundreds of settlements were cut off from electricity. Therefore, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal called on Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly in order to stabilize the energy system.

Second week in the raw, Monday morning in Ukraine starts with a massive attack on Ukraine’s big cities. At least four explosions were recorded in Kyiv downtown, while the mayor of Kyiv confirmed the drone attacks. Due to the attack one object of non-residential infrastructure was damaged, as well as residential houses. Three Shahed-136 kamikaze drones hit industrial infrastructure facilities and a pharmaceutical warehouse in Mykolaiv. Russia hit objects of the critical infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy region. At least 26 drones were shot down in the South of the country.

On October 10 and 11, massive missile attacks by the Russian military took place. On October 10, as a result of shelling, critical and civil infrastructure facilities were hit in 12 regions and the city of Kyiv. As a result of the attacks, 20 people were killed and 108 were injured all around Ukraine.

Today’s update is published late in the evening as our team has been affected by the morning attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. We spend our day in bomb shelters in Lviv, Poltava, and Kyiv hiding during 5-hour airstrike alert. During the day we experienced issues with electricity and disruptions of mobile and internet connection.

On October 6, the Russian military fired at residential buildings of Zaporizhzhia. As a result, residential buildings were significantly damaged, 12 people were injured and 1 person was killed.

On September 4, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated eight settlements of the Beryslav district of the Kherson region. In total, as of October 4, the Ukrainian military has already liberated 1534 settlements in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. As of yesterday, Ukraine liberated 8 more of the settlements in the Kherson region.

On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the ‘accession to the Russian Federation’ of the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. Putin’s speech aimed to underline the threat from the West that wants to colonize Russia, ‘exterminate ethnic groups’ and start ‘manhunting’ and the current crises are the results of the destroying policies of ‘Anglo-Saxons’.

On September 28, the Russian occupation authorities in the partially occupied Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions appealed to the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to consider the issue of joining the captured territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. Russian authorities implausibly claimed that each sham referendum received between 87 and 99% approval from Ukrainian residents.
