On October 25, the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier made his first visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion, after canceling his trip last week due to security concerns. Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Kyiv and Koriukivka, Chernihiv region, where the largest and most brutal Nazi punitive operation took place during the Second World War.

On the morning of October 22, Russian forces launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. Missiles hit mainly energy infrastructure facilities. As a result of the attack, 1 451 603 Ukrainians were cut off from electricity in various regions. Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, stated that Russia is trying to provoke new waves of refugees to Europe by attacking the critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reported that since October 10, 30% of Ukraine’s power stations have been damaged, causing massive blackouts across the country. As a result of the attack on the energy sector of Ukraine on October 17, hundreds of settlements were cut off from electricity. Therefore, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal called on Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly in order to stabilize the energy system.

Second week in the raw, Monday morning in Ukraine starts with a massive attack on Ukraine’s big cities. At least four explosions were recorded in Kyiv downtown, while the mayor of Kyiv confirmed the drone attacks. Due to the attack one object of non-residential infrastructure was damaged, as well as residential houses. Three Shahed-136 kamikaze drones hit industrial infrastructure facilities and a pharmaceutical warehouse in Mykolaiv. Russia hit objects of the critical infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy region. At least 26 drones were shot down in the South of the country.Â
