On November 11, Ukraine officially announced the liberation of the city of Kherson from the Russian invaders. Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a virtual address at COP27 with a main message that there can be no effective climate policy without peace on earth. He underlined that the Russian war brought energy and food crises to dozens of countries, which in a way hit those countries suffering from the existing manifestations of climate change, said Zelenskyy. In addition, he called the attending parties to support Ukraine’s initiative of creation of a global platform to assess the Impact of military actions on climate and environment.

For the first time, Iran acknowledged sending drones to Russia, insisting the transfer came before Moscow’s war on Ukraine that has seen the Iranian-made drones divebombing Kyiv.
